Pie Crust Cookies

Very good…not sweet. These cookies taste like shortbread. For a little bit sweeter version, try the Russian Tea Cakes.

1/2 c lard

1/3 c milk

3 Tbsp honey

1  3/4  c flour 

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1. Heat oven to 350 F.  In a large bowl, mix lard, milk, and honey until blended.  Stir in remaining ingredients.  

2. Divide dough in half.  Roll half of dough a time to 1/8” thick.  Cut with cutter.  Place on un-greased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart.  Bake 9 minutes. Cool. 

Makes 60-80 cookies.
