Hog Feed – Rolled Oats, Barley,\u00a0 <\/span>Hog Pellets (16%) Hogs should eat primarily kitchen scraps. Supplement with Hog mix.\u00a0 <\/span>We feed ours rice cooked with potatoes and banana skins (from the daily smoothie), plus any leftovers, peels, etc.\u00a0 <\/span>Approx. 1 lb a day for each hog.<\/p>\n

Keep hogs in a wooded area with filtered sunlight.\u00a0 <\/span>Give hogs clean water daily.\u00a0 <\/span>They love to burrow and root and dig holes.\u00a0 <\/span>Give them hay to build nests in the holes.\u00a0 <\/span>Hogs will dig deep holes for nests to keep warm in the winter.\u00a0 <\/span>In warm weather fill one or two holes with water.\u00a0 <\/span>Bury a kiddie pool to keep the water on the surface.\u00a0 <\/span>Hogs like to lay in the mud in the summer to keep cool.\u00a0 <\/span>Hogs prefer to be under cover when it rains.\u00a0 <\/span>Provide a tarp or roof for covered shelter.<\/p>\n

To breed Hogs, move the female into the pen with the male.\u00a0 <\/span>Gestation for hogs is 3-3-3.\u00a0 <\/span>Three\u00a0 <\/span>months, 3 weeks and 3 days. Move the female out of the pen at least two weeks before she is due to give birth.\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Litters for American Guinea Hogs are usually\u00a0 <\/span>8 – 10 piglets.<\/p>\n
