We’re starting the strawberries. Last year we grew the Festival berries and weren’t that happy with them. \u00a0They characteristically do not ripen all the way to the top.<\/p>\n

This year we decided to go with the tried and true Florida strawberry “Sweet Charlie”. The beds were gone over by the chickens first. (see the post about Chicken Tractor One<\/a>). Then we spread goat manure and black weed cloth.<\/p>\n

We have three rows ready for strawberries in the Hilltop Garden.<\/p>\n
