The Tilapia pool has its ups and downs. \u00a0The food turns the water a \u00a0very murky brown and\u00a0 you can only trust that the fish are still in there. \u00a0Completely changing \u00a0the water appears to be the key… not practical. \u00a0Today it’s clear again because we changed the water almost 100%. \u00a0Any suggestions as to how we can keep our fish more visible?<\/p>\n

Late October we started to lose two or three fish a day. \u00a0The ammonia levels were way too high. \u00a0Got some bio-bacteria balls to eat the ammonia…seems to work. \u00a0Put in a 50 gallon drum filter with graduated size rock layers. \u00a0Now the water is clear and we can actually see the tilapia!<\/p>\n

A couple of the males are starting to stake out some territory for \u00a0attracting the females..swimming in circles to keep everyone else away. \u00a0Need to get these guys into their own tank.<\/p>\n
