The temps were too warm (again!) in August, so we waited too long to plant. Holding off three weeks&#8230;running scared from the warm weather in early Sept, now we have to worry about everything getting nipped with the first frost.  <\/p>\n<p>Cabbage, broccoli, kale, cauliflower are slowly coming along.  We&#8217;re cheering them on and watching the forecast for the first frigid nights.  Beans and lettuce just refused to do anything&#8230;way too hot for them.  Peppers are doing fine and the chinese cabbage is looking okay in patches.  Strawberries are looking great&#8230;hope they make it before frost!  <\/p>\n<p>Cover cropping is going well&#8230;50 lbs of Austrian Winter Peas will do us fine! We&#8217;ve started rotating the chickens, ducks, and geese, grazing one field at a time and letting the rye grass replenish in the opposite field.
