The family came to visit in the early days of May. We planned our first Fam-Cation Event, sparse goings-on, but we had fun and will add more activities as we go.

Chickens – May 2016
A flock of happy chickens…
We currently (May 2016) have 11 Red Star egg layers with 6 Brown Isis and 3 Golden Sex Links coming along. The 9 smaller birds are about 4 months now and will start to lay soon.
The Red Star flock resides alongside a dozen Orpington Barred-Rock hens of equally happy nature. The birds free range on mixed grass pasture, grazing and foraging alongside their pals the three Dwarf Newbian Goats.

So what is wrong with these cukes? It’s probably the ‘too hot too fast’ problem that we had last year…any ideas?
