Hancock Seed Company – Dade City. Bought 4 (50) lb bags barley seed for fodder and 2 (50) lb bags winter rye to seed the pastures.
Started soaking barley overnight for germinating in the next two days. Remember the fodder from last years. We used barley and oats. Germination on the barley was much better than the oats.
Finally some rain clouds! It’s been weeks and weeks since it rained here in Citrus County. Perhaps a little moisture is coming? We’ve had less than 2″ this fall!
High today 77 Low tonight 65! Dec?
Happy Homesteading,
Word of advice…if you plant parsley in Florida, plant it in the shade! Of course, in Florida that goes for most plants. Very few plant varieties can take hot Florida sun all day.
This is the parsley that gets the sun all day…not any old sun…Florida sun!
This is the parsley patch in the West Veggie Garden…in the shade all day
