Our soil building is humming along at the top of the hill, with help from the Rooster Duo in the Chicken Tractor One . We have planted all our own cow peas from last season, and will have to purchase enough to finish the rest.

Last year it was end of Aug when the lightning hit the tree and the Tilly garden gate. In 2016 the July thunderstorm brought down a tree limb in the Barnyard…right in front of the goats, who promptly high-tailed it to their nice safe pen!
Today we began again with summer cover crops, planting 3 rows of black-eyed peas. When we are ready to plant veggies in the fall we will cut the plants at the base and use the cut plants for mulch in the paths.
