We woke at around 2:00 to a weather alert for tornadoes in our area of Citrus County. The storm was raging outside, worse than either of the hurricanes we have had this season. The electricity went out and as the band of storms moved off, we went back to sleep in total blackness. We take for granted the familiar little spots of light from clock faces, water-in-the-door dispenser, and various night lights around…when they aren’t there. The storm finally moved on with apparently no tornadoes in the immediate vicinity. The daylight will tell…

Low last night was 32!! We covered the tomatoes and spinach. The spinach did okay, but the tomatoes that weren’t covered fared better than the protected ones. Highs got up to 80 today and now we’re back in a heat wave. So…yes it got COLD, but nevermind…just a tease.
We put out another new sign today. Unfortunately, if you look quick it looks like the farm is for sale !! …had to switch it around

We’re selling Pekin Ducks and baby Bunnies. The Pekins are Giant breed. You can almost watch them grow!
The Bunnies are New Zealand and California mix. Gestation is 21 days. This is the second time around for each of the two Moms. So they did better this time, creating a nest out of the woodchips and their own fur. They each had 3 the first time. This time one had three and the other seven! That’s more like it!
