A flock of happy chickens…
We currently (May 2016) have 11 Red Star egg layers with 6 Brown Isis and 3 Golden Sex Links coming along. The 9 smaller birds are about 4 months now and will start to lay soon.
The Red Star flock resides alongside a dozen Orpington Barred-Rock hens of equally happy nature. The birds free range on mixed grass pasture, grazing and foraging alongside their pals the three Dwarf Newbian Goats.
Life is good…
So, now with Emma we have two new friends. We began by calling them Bessie and Belle. Those names have evolved into
“COW” 
and “BABY”

We lost Katie to coyotes this past week. We are very sad, and we miss her…but not as much as Emma does! We got two new goats to keep her company, but so far she’s not having it.
We finally had to partition the goat pen for separate sleeping arrangements. Emma really misses Katie, and the new gals “Bessie” and “Bella” just can’t replace her…yet.
