Our soil building is humming along at the top of the hill, with help from the Rooster Duo in the Chicken Tractor One . We have planted all our own cow peas from last season, and will have to purchase enough to finish the rest.
Today we began again with summer cover crops, planting 3 rows of black-eyed peas. When we are ready to plant veggies in the fall we will cut the plants at the base and use the cut plants for mulch in the paths.

Cover crops are in. Austrian Winter Peas will take us through the winter…greens for the livestock and mulch for the garden and seeds for next year.
