Greetings and salutations!
My name is Sofi Grace, and I am currently residing at Bent Pine Farm for an internship. I will be here for almost the entire month of February! I am extremely excited to work in the Lost Arts House, take care of the animals, and eat delicious food raised on site!
I was encouraged to try my hand at blogging during my stay, something I have never done before. Well, here goes nothing…
Let us begin with my trip. Flying down from Ohio took roughly two hours. My first time traveling alone! After recovering from my initial nervousness, the journey was quite pleasant. Next, a two-hour ride from the airport to the farm. Take my word for it, sitting down all day loses most of its appeal after an hour or so into it.
Three days into my internship, and so far I have discovered: 1) I like kombucha; 2) geese are all hiss and no bite [for the moment]; 3) farm life works up an excellent appetite; 4) the first episode of the Mission: Impossible TV series that co-starred Leonard Nimoy was Season Four, Episode One.
Also: hornets are awful, and kids (as in baby goats) are adorable! Everyone knows that already though.
Earlier today I tried deviled eggs on saltines (yummy!), and practiced using a hand-operated cotton gin. Upon finishing this post, I shall learn how to marble paper. All-in-all, a very informative day.
That is it for today, folks! Catch ya later,
Sofi Grace
