Soapmaking 101 … Disaster!!

Well, we’ve successfully made soap using the cold process several times. The problem is you have to wait to let it cure. And we usually run out before we get more made. So this time we tried hot process…

Got all the way to the end and the mixture turned into a horrible lumpy mess. We could have used it last week on Halloween to scare people! “Don’t give up on hot process now. Get right back on that horse!” says my conscience.

So far so good…

and then… disaster

Now come on…don’t laugh!

Our friend Melinda makes goat milk soap, and she’s really good at it. Check out her website.    I’ll have to get her to tell us what we did wrong!   Melinda, Help!

Teddy Bears for Kids Project

We have a Kickstarter Project going on called “Teddy Bears for Kids”. We’re doing this for two reasons. One – to give a little love and the gift of a homemade-handmade Teddy Bear to kids who are spending Christmas in the hospital. Two – to give a little extra income to the sew-crafters who will be paid a stipend for sewing the Teddy Bears. Win-win!

Please support our project by giving financially AND by sharing the Teddy Bears Project link with all your friends. We have some great give-aways, too! Check them out on the Kickstarter project page
