Winter Rye and Austrian Winter Pea a yummy combination for soil-building. The goats and the geese are both enjoying the new barnyard pasture. It took about ten days to grow and is completely fenced in with the electric fence. We move the fence a bit each day so that the goats won’t get too much new grass all a once. They react poorly to drastic changes in diet, so we are giving them the new grass a little at a time.
We have about two acres sectioned off into pastures. We bought mostly the 150 feet goat and sheep fence, although we do have a 100 foot length of the chicken fence. The goat and sheep fencing is pos-neg, meaning that the rows of wire alternate positive and negative. It is very easy for two people to move, not so easy for one person.
Happy Homesteading,
