No, no…it’s soil-building in layers…you know, like lasagna.
Here’s the lasagna garden March 2017. Large leaf basil, parsley, and stevia…doing good. Start with a layer of cardboard, put a thick layer of mulch. Then lay rows of compost and plant in those rows. By the second season the whole thing has composted and you’ve got good soil.

So that was the garden in March. Now it’s mid May and here is the garden now:
The large leaf basil is going great. We have basil tea everyday.
